Join us online on Monday 16th June at 4pm for the launch of

‘Not Your Average PhD Researcher’

  • Why are there so few research students from working class, Black British and other ethnic minority backgrounds?
  • What’s it like to do a PhD if you come from these (or other) underrepresented groups?
  • What might help you overcome that sense of being a fish out of water and make your doctorate a happy experience?

Our new video, ‘Not your Average PhD Researcher’ includes fascinating personal stories and expert advice to cast light on these questions.  The video will be available to users of Dr.App, our unique online resource for doctoral students. Further information about Dr.App, the ‘PhD companion in your pocket’ is here.

Our free 90 minute event at 4pm on 16th June is for anyone interested in supporting doctoral students.  It will include a screening of the new video and discussion of the issues it raises.  Please register below to receive the Zoom link.
